Former Grand Slam champion convicted for a rape

The former champion of doubles from Grand Slam Bob Hewitt was sentenced by the court in South Africa, said "Reuters". Judge said that he believed the two women accused in rape the veteran, and a third, which last month claimed that he had abused with her sexually, telling the truth.

The charges are from the 80s and 90s of last century, when Hewitt was a coach in an academy for boys and girls.

According to court the testimony of the three women are absolutely identical and there is no way the 75 years old former player to be not guilty. The Australian was arrested immediately after the announcement.

Bob Hewitt has 9 titles in doubles in Grand Slam. He has won all four majors in duets, as most he has triumphed at Wimbledon - 5 times.
