Legendary success for Leganes, Alaves also at the 1/4-final

For the first time in his history, Leganes qualified for the 1/4-finals in the King`s Cup. This happened after a dramatic rematch against Villarreal, lost 1:2. Asier Garitano`s team, however, had won the first game analyzed by links to fixed asian picks with 1-0 and thanks to his goal on a foreign field he went on ahead. Villarreal started better and Carlos Bacca made two serious misses in the first quarter of an hour. In the middle of the half-time Pablo Fornals appeared alone against goalkeeper Nereo Champagne but fired straight into it. This was one of many good interventions by the Argentinean watchman, who has a major merit for Leganes` ultimate success. In the 31st minute, Nabil El Zar received a pass from deep, showed good speed and technically transferred the home keeper Mariano Barbosa. This made the task of the `yellow submarine` very complicated because the team needed at l east three irrepressible goals. Champagne saved at least three clear positions before the break, but Villarreal`s pressure grew stronger. In the 48th minute Daniel Raba was dropped into the penalty area and could not be wrong for a few meters. The hosts continued to shoot Champaign, which was impassable. The new addition Roger Martinez appeared in the game, but he did not impress. Another reserve, Denis Cheryshev, returned Villarreal`s hopes with a goal in the 89th minute but Leganes did not bend at the end and achieved his goal. Alaves` task for the modest Formentera was much easier because of the 3:1 success at the first date. The hosts made a lot of gaps, but they still made their will after the break. Elmer Demirovic scored 55 minutes when technically knocking the ball past the Formentera guard. The final 2:0 formed Alfonso Pedraza in the added time with a nice shot on the diagonal.
